- In 1976 Tatyana Michailovna had graduated the Rostov-on-Don State University with honors.
- From 1976 to 2001 she worked in the Naurzum State Nature Reserve as a research officer, senior research officer, since 1984 - Deputy Director for scientific work.
- In 1987 she had defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of biological sciences.
- In 2004 she had defended her dissertation for the degree of doctor of biological sciences.
- From 2001 to 2005 she worked as an Associate Professor (from 2001 to 2003 at the same time she worked as the chief specialist of the regional territorial administration for forests and bioresources).
- In 2005 she was awarded the academic title of docent (Associate Professor).
- In 2007 she was awarded the academic title of professor (Full Professor).
- Since 2005 she has been working as a professor at KSPI.
She is the author of over 350 scientific works, including 18 textbooks, 17 individual and collective monographs on biological diversity, natural resources, protected areas, ecology and environmental legislation. In 2007 she became the owner of the Republican grant "The best lecturer of the university".
Professor TM. Bragina is an independent expert of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, a biodiversity expert for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), a member of the National Working Group on the Implementation of the CBD and CACILM, the chairman of the NGO Naurzum, the Lead of the Global Team of Specialists of the Commission for the Management of Ecosystems of the International Union for Conservation Nature "Holarctic steppes" (IUCN / CEM SG Holarctic Steppes), a scientific expert of the Committee for Forestry and Fauna of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, international observer of the Ramsar regional initiative for the Central Asia (RRI CA), a member of the editorial boards of the journals Steppe Bulletin (RF), Eco-Potential (RF), a member of a number of scientific societies etc.
Professor T. M. Bragina was the initiator of the improvement of the borders and expansion of the Naurzum Reserve, the creation of the State Natural Reservat Altyn Dala, the preparation of the materials of the first in Central Asia nomination of the natural site on the UNESCO World Heritage List. She proposed the creation of the Turkestan State National Natural Park. She was the developer and the first coordinator of the Altyn Dala Conservation Initiative (ADCI), coordinator of some major conservation and environmental projects in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
She has been awarded with the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, the State Order "Kurmet", the Medal "20 years of environmental service", the breastplate "Excellence in the environmental sphere".
During the period of work at the KSPI she has been awarded with the breastplate “For merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
