On November 19 to December 5, the Department of arts held an international competition among students of the specialty "Fine arts and drawing". Two competition formats were held: remote-by online voting on the information portal of the official website of KSPU and online competition. The remote format of the competition is held in the categories of painting and graphics. Voting took place from November 19, 2018 to December 3, 2018.students of Ural state pedagogical University (14 students) and Kostanay state pedagogical University named after U. Sultangazin (8 students) participated in the competition. A total of 22 participants presented 42 works to the audience. On December 5, the online format of the competition was held in the training workshops. Students of Arkalyk state pedagogical Institute named after I. participated.Altynsarin and Kostanay state pedagogical University named after U. Sultangazin.
From 5 to 12 October 2018, the choir of students of the OP "Musical education" of KSPU under the leadership of Ph. D. Zhakaeva S. A. took part in the International festival of choral groups "Astana – Alem Dausy" in Astana. The festival was held within the framework of the VI Congress of world and traditional religions.
On March 27, 2018, a round table was held on the topic: “Methodological work of an additional education teacher in the context of updating the content of education”, the purpose of which was to consolidate the efforts of educational organizations at all levels to solve the problems of methodical work of teachers of additional education.

On November 30, 2016, a methodical seminar “Forming research skills of schoolchildren in the context of modernizing education” was held for music teachers, fine arts and drawing general education schools in the city. The methodical seminar was attended by: 10 music teachers of secondary schools № 1, 3, 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22; 9 teachers of art and drawing, technology Grammar school them. M. On October 22, 2015, a round table discussion was held on the topic: “The problem of training specialists: feedback”. The following persons took part in the round table: Malysheva A.P. (director of the school of art of Auliekol district) (graduate of 2013, teacher of painting and drawing of the art school of Auliekolsky district), P. Latyshev (graduate of 2013, teacher at the Kostanay Specialized Music School). According to the results of the round table, a resolution was adopted.
On March 16, 2015, within the framework of the existing agreement on pedagogical cooperation, a master class was held: “Implementation of case technologies, project training technologies” together with a teacher from the Zhambyl small-class school of Kostanay district, a graduate of KSPI, specialty “Fine arts and drawing” Ishmiyazova R.N.
November 14, 2014, teachers took part in the regional seminar “Additional education of children in the context of system modernization: introducing innovations and ensuring quality of services” held by the Regional Training and Methodological Center for the Development of Additional Education of Children of Akimat of Kostanay Region.
On the basis of the Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute in March 2012 and October 2014, the department together with the Regional Training and Methodological Center for Additional Education of Children of the Akimat of Kostanay Region held a regional competition of works by young artists in the field of fine art "Zhasdaryn" in three nominations: graphics, painting, arts and crafts.
Teachers of the department annually improve their professional level in the form of passing advanced training courses at RIPKSO "Orleu" in Almaty, Astana, as well as educational centers in Karaganda, Kostanay
