"200th anniversary of the birth of Russian writer and poet, singer of love and Russian nature Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev was marked on 9st November» The evening under the name "Two hundred years have passed ..." was began with those words in the library named after L.N. Tolstoy on 14st November 14. The 1st year students of the educational program Russian Language and Literature were invited.
The evening was held in the form of discussion, which specially invited guests: Denis Kacheev, senior lecturer at the Philosophy Department at A. Baitursynov State University, Candidate of Philosophy, Master of History, Arkady Semenovich Denisov, independent publicist, as well as other participants: library staff, teachers and students, were attended.
The participants had a spontaneous conversation about many things that could not be finding in school textbooks: about the features of Turgenev’s works, but also about an individual and citizen, about the depths of his works. And the works of the author are known in the world literature not only as literary, but also philosophical. The discussion also touched upon the themes of love and Turgenev’s women. A fragment from a contemporary film caused a heated discussion among those who had gathered.
In any case, disputing parties agree on one thing: I. S. Turgenev is a brilliant classic of world culture that will not remain anyone indifferent.
