The graduates of 2020 are special, despite the current situation, students were able to defend their diploma projects with dignity and receive the degree of "Bachelor Education".
Graduation work is a mandatory student certification test, an indicator of knowledge, which was mastered by a graduate of a higher education program for all years of study. From June 1 to June 3, 2020, graduate students of the specialties "5B011800 - Russian Language and Literature", "5B012200-Russian Language and Literature in schools with non-Russian Language of Instruction" passed the defense of graduate works. Graduates presented their scientific research to members of the state certification commission, demonstrated the ability to develop in the scientific field and solve the problems under study.
From May 24 to May 30, 2020, the senior teacher of the Department of Philology Koval O. was holding events dedicated to the Day of Slavic Written Language and Culture in a remote format. Every year on May 24 this holiday is celebrated in Kazakhstan and many countries of the world. “Day of Slavic Written Language and Culture is very important for multinational Kazakhstan. Therefore we decided to organize an action under the hashtag #возрождаем забытое and conduct an online quiz on the Quizizz platform.
Last autumn, Kazakhstan American Free University in partnership with Michigan State University (USA) submitted a joint application for grant funding for the SCILLA project and it was approved. The long-awaited project received funding, and in the next 8 months the participants will work online to implement the goals and objectives of the international project. Douglas K.Hartman, professor of the University of Michigan, Peter De Costa, associate professor of the University of Michigan, Julia Novitskaya, head of the department of the Kazakh-American University, as well as teachers of Kazakhstan universities take part in the project. The representatives of Kostanay State Pedagogical University named after U. Sultangasin became the teachers of the department of philology of OP "Foreign language: two foreign languages" M.I. On April 22, 2020, a student scientific and practical conference "Problems and prospects of philological science in the context of modern education" was held in the direction of training teachers of the Russian language and literature. The conference was held online in the new conditionals. The conference was attended by students of 2 - 4 courses of the specialty "Russian language and literature" and students of the Kostanay branch of the Chelyabinsk State University.
On April 22, 2020 the educational program "Russian Language and Literature" held a preliminary defense of theses. 4-year full-time students and 3-year full-time students took part in the pre-diploma thesis. Welcoming remarks were made by the head of the educational program “Russian Language and Literature” K. On April 20 the educational program “Russian Language and Literature” and the social project of 2nd year students “Easy Russian” held an essay competition “Rukhani Zhanyru - the spiritual compass of Kazakhstanis”. It was held among 1st year students of departments with the Kazakh language of training. On April 17, 2020, teachers of the Department of Philology in the direction of training teachers of «the Russian language and literature» held a webinar on the topic "Working with students in distance learning." Teachers of the State Institution “Secondary School No. 7 of the Education Department of the Akimat of the City of Kostanay” and the State Institution “Secondary School No. 23 named after M.
