Competition «Spelling Bee»

November 20, 2018 The American Corner, together with the teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, held a popular competition “Spelling Bee” among students of 2 and 3 courses.
More than 50 students took part in a competition. The pronouncer clearly pronounces the word two times. The students should pronounce the word and say each letter distinctly. They have two minutes to spell the word. Students may ask the pronouncer to repeat the word, define it, use it in a sentence, provide the part of speech, and provide the language of origin.
In the annual competition places were distributed as follows:
- 1st place - 3rd year student AlshimovaZhanar
- 2nd place - 2nd year student Amirgaliev Alibi
- 3rd place - 3rd year student Ilya Shikov
The competition was interesting, all participants were highly motivated and engaged in this event. Winners were awarded with memorable prizes. This competition encourages students to learn more words, motivates to read more, learn new things. We wish further success to our winners.They will take part in the city tournamenton November 25th 2018.
