On November 21, 2018, a meeting of students of the specialty 5В011300 - Biology, 5В011200 - Chemistry with Doctor of Chemistry, Professor of the Perm State Humanitarian-Pedagogical University Kozminykh Vladislav Olegovich was held at the Department of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
A lecture was given on the topic “Chemical education and scientific research in the field of synthetic and structural organic chemistry: main directions, achievements and prospects”, as well as a discussion on entomological research in which Dr. Braginа Tatyana Mikhailovna and professor Kozminykh Vladislav Olegovich (entomologist - non-professional).
The professor told students about scientific research in the field of entomology, chemistry, conducted in PGGPU, in particular, showed the use of various physico-chemical methods for the study of newly synthesized organic compounds. It was noted that the research results of the team of chemists at this university are published mainly in the journals of Scopus. The lecturer dwelt on some details of the studies using physicochemical methods (NMR, IR, UV spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, chromato-mass-spectrometry, etc.).
Lecture of Prof. V.O. Kozminykh Aroused great interest among students, questions were asked and answers were received. There was also talk about establishing cooperation between universities. A proposal was made to send some young teachers of the department of natural sciences to the postgraduate school of Perm University.
