On the methodical week of the Department of Natural Sciences in the framework of the project «100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language» on February 15, 2019 by the senior teacher Suyundikova Zh.T. A presentation of Alan Barnard's book «Anthropology: history and theory» was organized with the participation of 2-year students of the specialty «Biology» of the Kazakh department for students of the natural-mathematical faculty.
The purpose of the presentation: to acquaint students with the textbook, to introduce the younger generation to the global intellectual values and to promote higher education levels of the younger generation. In the article «Looking to the Future: Modernization of Public Consciousness», the Head of State outlined that - the project «100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language» gives our young people the opportunity to learn according to the best world standards. The study of such books contributes to the growth of education of the younger generation. The President also noted that «this is the right step in the formation of a new generation of Kazakhstanis, brought up in the spirit of competition».
One of the books translated by the project is the book by Alan Barnard «Anthropology: history and theory». Anthropology - the science of the origin and evolution of man. The history of anthropology in the interpretation of the author reveals the historical context of the great scientific debate, the genealogy of the theory and the development of academic schools in anthropology. The book covers the historical review of scientific knowledge before the advent of anthropology; evolutionism; theories of diffusionism and cultural regions; functionalism and structural functionalism; action-oriented theory; Marxist research; structuralism and poststructuralism, and the emerging attitudes.
In the age of globalization, it is extremely important to form a new generation that will accept all current challenges and threats of time. The main tool for this is education.
