On January 23, 2018y., on the regional television channel "Kazakhstan-Kostanay" in the program "Ak Oramal" a hot debate was held on the theme "The Ring of Ages" dedicated to the history of the kobyz instrument. The transfer was prepared as part of the discussion on the implementation of the program article by N.A. Nazarbayev "Seven Facets of the Great Steppe". The guests of the evening were residents of Kostanay - Alan Toiganov with a legendary kobyz instrument brought from Kyzylorda and having a 300-year history, Kydyrbek Kyskan, clairvoyant Aksuluapai and senior teacher of the arts department of Kostanay State Pedagogical University named after U. Sultangazin Yesmaganbetova Sh.K.
The host of the program, Gulnur Seidakhmet, spoke about the distinctive features of the kobyz instrument. Clairvoyant Aksulu told the story of the former owners of the legendary kobyz: today it is the fifth generation. K. Kyskan and Sh. Esmaganbetova told about the history of the formation of modern kobyz art.The first-year student of the musical education program AktasTomiris performed the work of Abay’s “Kazzmnіn Karasy” on kobyz, and the second-year student Joldasova Janyl - the piece of Ykylas Zhezkik.
