The main stages in the implementation of the project of the Academician at the Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute

Academician is a three-year project funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus Plus program.

The project is carried out within the framework of the centralized activity "Capacity Building in Higher Education" -2015.

The consortium of the project unites 17 organizations: educational institutions, ministries of education, communities from seven European and Asian countries - Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The second stage of the project was marked by the successful completion of the modernization of the first (winter) semester training courses in partner universities in Central Asia. A regular meeting of project partners was also held - the fifth plenary session of the ACADEMICA team, which took place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) on November 23-24, 2017.
The meeting was organized on the basis of the International University
information technologies.

The meeting program was full of important events for the project:
this is a visit to teachers who modernize the training courses, conduct a general meeting of the consortium and all the participants of the MUIT project, and also get acquainted with the laboratory of the ACADEMIC project.

Teachers and students were able to demonstrate lessons from the courses Object Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Photo in Multimedia and Professional English.

All classes were conducted using new teaching methods in accordance with the methodology of ACADEMICA.

The meeting ended with the solemn presentation of certificates of participation in the training courses of the project and authoring courses

NEXT STEPS In the ACADEMICA Virtual Learning Environment, an open discussion was initiated, the aim of which is to enable all registered environmental users to express their own opinion and attitude to modernized courses, their new content, approaches and tools based on ICT.

It is assumed that the methodology of the training course entails the improvement of the system of higher technical and engineering education. The platform for mutual exchange of views will be active and accessible until the end of the project, and all participants in the experiment can participate in it.

At the beginning of the second semester, all trainees registered as participants in the control groups will provide information on the needs related to the introduction of upgraded courses during the summer semester. Feedback will be carried out by conducting a survey of the participants in the experiment.

The result of the data collection will be an analysis obtained in accordance with the requirements of international education standards and will be published in the report. The procedure for selecting the best examples of modernized disciplines at the institutional level should be completed.

The second phase of experimental work was started in January 2018, which includes the modernization of 53 undergraduate and graduate courses scheduled for the second (summer) semester of the academic year 2017/18.

All the universities-partners of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan conducted the opening of the laboratories of the project and created an information and communication space for the successful training of students in the framework of the ACADEMICA project.

The process of acquiring equipment and creating laboratories continues in two Turkmen universities, is being finalized in the near future. More than 700 students were registered to participate in the ACADEMICA experiment stage, and this process is continuous, which indicates the sustainability of the project.

All upgraded courses were registered in the disciplines catalog, developed within the virtual educational environment of ACADEMICA.

After the end of the first semester of the 2017/18 school year, all students participating in the experiment are invited to provide feedback on the degree of satisfaction with the upgraded courses.
