Meeting with a representative of the Embassy of the USA in Kazakhstan

11th of April there was a meeting of a representative of the Embassy of the USA in Kazakhstan, teacher of the English language Bee Jenkins http://kazakhstan.usembassy.gov/bee-jenkins-fellow.html with the vice-rector on educational and methodological work Tolegen M.A., dean of the faculty of foreign language Doroshok E.L., and head of the chair of foreign languages Kudritskaya M.I.
During the meeting with a representative of the Embassy of the USA were discussed terms of development of a program of students and teachers' academic mobility between KSPI and Kent state university, Ohio.
Bee Jenkins lived and worked in Ecuador, Italy, Armenia and United States. She got her Master's degree in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) in Ohio University, where she taught English language during 4 years. She also spent a year at Russian-Armenian University in Yerevan, where she developed and taught courses on development of pronunciation in the English language (accent reduction) and preparation to work.
Her lessons are used for art, politics and culture classes in order to involve students in critical thinking and project study. Within the framework of cooperation of Kostanay state pedagogical institute with Regional English Language Office of the Embassy of the USA in Kazakhstan http://kazakhstan.usembassy.gov/regional-english-language-office.html it is planned to organize professional community of teachers of non-language disciplines taught in English, which Bee Jenkins will organize jointly with the chair of foreign languages. Regular seminars, methodological workshops, round tables during 2014-2015 academic years will help teachers to share the experience and methodics of teaching that in turn will improve the quality of educational service of KSPI.
