Regional Scientific and Practical Conference "Trilingual education: approaching global citizenship through 21 century skills development"

On February 12, 2019,the regional scientific-practical conference "Trilingual education: approaching global citizenship through 21 century skills development " was organized by the Education Department of Akimat of Kostanay Region in cooperation with Kostanay State Pedagogical University named after U.Sultangazinwithin the frameworkof regional decade"Trilingualism- confident step into the future!"
The conference was attended by representatives of the Department of Education of Akimat of Kostanay Region, University teachers, teachers of secondary schools of the region.
The problem field of the conference: the values of education in the multicultural space; 21st century skills for successful adaptation of school graduates, students in modern society; approaches to the introduction of trilingualisminungraded school; successful practices of trilingual education.
During the sectional discussion, reports on the following topics were heard: “Trilingualism is the basis for the formation of a multilingual personality”,
“The introduction of multilingual education in aungradedschool”,“Experience and problems"," The use of the CLIL methodology in the school and university”,
"The integration of the English language in the subjects of the natural science cycle",
"Actual issues of implementation and development of the integrated methodology ",“Teaching subjects of natural-mathematical cycle in terms of the content of secondary education"," The development of multilingual education in national schools "," The effectiveness of the use of ICT in CLIL lessons ".
As a conclusion, it was noted that the process of development of trilingual education in general education schools of the region is determined by sound and identified prospects and problems of the process with a view to solving them.
Also, problems were addressed in the following areas: trilingualism is the basis for the formation of a multilingual personality, topical issues of teaching subjects of the natural science cycle in the context of updating the content of education, the development of trilingual education in national schools, the effectiveness of teaching NSD subjects to the target language and the method of integrated teaching of the language and subject (Content and Language Integrated Learning).
