On February 12, 2018, within the framework of the week of the department, Suyundikova Zhanar Tuleutaevna, Senior Teacher of Natural Sciences, conducted an open class on the subject human anatomy which called "As Korytu Zhuiesi" ("Digestion System") for 2nd year students of the specialty "Biology".
The purpose of the lesson was to examine the structure, topography, functions and features of the digestive system. During the lesson, there were applied interactive teaching methods such as: associagram, cluster, brainstorming and level tasks. At the class, the students worked in small groups using the "Jigso" method. The essence of the method was to allow small groups to advance through the curriculum at an individual pace. Students by choosing colored stickers, formed groups. Each student in each small group was assigned by number from one to three. Then the teacher gave all the information to the new groups which formed by assigned numbers.
Afterwards, students in the same group (there were three groups) studied in detail their part of the material. Previously, the text was divided into several semantic parts, and each group worked on its part of the text. The teacher, in her turn, watched the work of the groups, and also explained the questions that they had during the topic discussion. After studying a certain section of the topic, students presented their material one by one to the entire audience. Then the students returned to their previous groups. In result, each group has a student who knows a certain section of topic.
In the groups was an exchange of information, mutual learning and discussion. Through a variety of tasks, the teacher tested the knowledge, understanding and assimilation of new material. To better memorize the names of organs and parts of the digestive system in Latin the elements of CLIL technology were used. At the conclusion of the lesson, the reflection was held. The teachers of the department visited the lesson, and noted the high level of the methodical organization and the activity of the students, that reached by favorable conditions for understanding the information.
