Methodical seminar "The use of techniques for formative evaluation within the updated curriculum content"

November 9, 2018 according to the results of refresher courses for faculty members of higher educational institutions who provide training for teachers in the context of updating the content of secondary education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, developed by the center of pedagogical skills of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AOO, teachers of the Department of Natural Sciences Suyundikova Zh.T. Baubekovoy G.K. a methodical seminar was held on the topic “The use of methods for formative evaluation within the updated curriculum content”.
The aim of the seminar was to discuss modern methods of formative assessment, which are used in the framework of the updated content of the secondary education program. Teachers of the department were invited to the seminar, as well as 3-year students of the specialties "Biology", "Geography" with the state language of instruction.
Zh.T. Suyundikova spoke about the techniques (jigsaw, brainstorming, case-stage method, design technology, feedback, etc.) used in formative evaluation aimed at the development of thinking skills, creativity, independent learning, the ability to analyze situations. The use of these techniques ensures the effective nature of the activities of each student, provides an opportunity to provide students with operational assistance at any stage of the lesson.
During the workshop, students demonstrated an understanding of the techniques (jigso, case-stage method), working in microgroups for the suggested time. Students noted the usefulness and timeliness of the seminar, as from January 2019 planned educational practice in schools.
