February 26, 2019 Tatyana M. Bragina, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, celebrated her anniversary. Students and teachers of the department of natural sciences organized and held a solemn event, to which honored guests were invited. Among them: Vice-Rector for Academic Work and Social Affairs G.A. Musabekova, Vice-Rector for Research and Strategic Development N. Medetov, Head of the Entomological Museum of Kostanay State University. A. From 1 to 15 February 2019, an international scientific training took place of teachers of natural-mathematical faculty of natural sciences department – Bragina T.M., Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor, Bobrenko M.A., Master of Biology, the head of SRC of Science and international relations office, Rulyova M.M., Master of Biology, senior lecture. The international scientific training was at the molecular lab of the Natural History Museum, University of Oslo (Norway). The training course was made possible by a grant from the participant of the international project of Professor Bragina T.M. on the development of innovative molecular genetic methods of studying insects.
On the methodical week of the Department of Natural Sciences in the framework of the project «100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language» on February 15, 2019 by the senior teacher Suyundikova Zh.T. A presentation of Alan Barnard's book «Anthropology: history and theory» was organized with the participation of 2-year students of the specialty «Biology» of the Kazakh department for students of the natural-mathematical faculty. The purpose of the presentation: to acquaint students with the textbook, to introduce the younger generation to the global intellectual values and to promote higher education levels of the younger generation.
On 14th of February, 2019, the trip for the purpose of career guidance work in the North - Kazakhstan region was organized by the Department of career planning and public services of Kostanay State Pedagogical University named after U. Sultangazin. Students of the faculty of natural science and Mathematics Orazgali Aizhan (specialty «Geography») and Olfa Lutsenko (specialty «Mathematics») took part in this work. The official meeting of representatives of Universities with school graduates of the region was held in the village Novoishimskoe, the district of which was named after Gabit Musrepov and which is the native village of these students.
In the framework of the methodical week of the Department of natural Sciences on February 13, 2019 was held a presentation of Professor E. Bragin on field scientific research. This research has been conducted since 2017 in partnership with Dr. Todd Katzner from the research center in Boise, Idaho, USA (Dr. Todd Katzner, Research Wildlife Biologist, Forest & Rangeland science Center, U.S. Geological Survey, and Dr. NIR Sapir, University of Haifa, Israel Nir Sapir, Animal Flight Laboratory Department of Evolutionary and Environmental Biology and Institute of Evolution University of Haifa) on the international project «Study of the steppe eagle».
In the framework of the initiative theme, the department of natural sciences, students, teachers of the 2nd course of the Kazakh department of the specialty "Biology" under the guidance of curator Syundikova Zh.T. A number of activities aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle. On February 8, 2019 an intellectual game was held on the theme “We are for a healthy lifestyle!” The purpose of the intellectual game: enhancing cognitive activity, providing students with a proper understanding of a healthy lifestyle.
On January 17, 2019, the meeting first-year students of the Natural and Mathematics Faculty was held. Dean of the faculty Shumeiko T.S. once more informed the students about changes in the system of evaluation of educational achievements. She focused students’ attention on the peculiarities of the re-examinations. Deputy Dean Baymaganbetova B.B. has acquainted first-year students with the results of the winter exam session. Then an open written survey of the students was conducted. In the survey, they expressed their views on the positive aspects of the educational process and made suggestions for its improvement.
January 9, 2019 methodological seminar "Implementation of The road map of trilingual education development for 2015-2020" held at the Department of Natural Sciences Moderators of the seminar are Candidate of Biological Sciences Borodulina O.V. and Master of Biology Bobrenko M.A. The multilingual department of the specialty "Biology" was created at the department 7 years ago. Thus, we have already made 3 graduations of students who are demand in the labor market, working not only in Kostanay, but also in Astana and other cities of the country.
Charity event - an alternative to teachers' bouquets caused a big controversy in September. We believe that any time of the year is suitable for showing mercy. December 27, 2018 methodical seminar "Modern pedagogical technologies in the context of updated educational content" was held by senior teachers of the Natural and Mathematics Faculty Abdimominova D.К. and K.T. Baimaganbetova. The goal of the methodical seminar is to improve the skills of professional design and modeling in modern lectures on educational and research activities, as well as on the basis of personality and competence, to form competences in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the learning process.
